【概要】


日本の風土と私の「個」とのつながりを見つめて展示《ゼロポイント》。

若佐慎一は108の小さな断片、成長の変化やデジタル社会で揺れる心を背景に、「無」という言葉の新しい意味を探ります。

このプロジェクトは、日本では古くから大切にされ続けてきた「環境との調和」の考え方に思いを馳せるものです。日本では、山や川、四季や人々と呼吸を合わせながら、自然や集団の中に自分を感じるアニミズム的概念「和」が長く続いてきました。

アニミズム的感覚と可愛さは、人と自然や見えない存在とのつながりを直感的に感じさせる力を持っています。アニミズムの思想では万物に魂が宿るとされ、そこに「かわいさ」が宿ることで、見ている人に生命の尊さや微細な存在の輝きを感じ取ります。若狭慎一の作品における可愛さは、単なる愛らしさではなく、自然や存在の神秘的な気配を親しみやすい形で表現し、私たちが忘れがちな環境との共生や命の繋がりに気づかせる役割を果たしています。こうしてアニミズム的な感覚は感情を引き込み、より深い共感を促すのです。

1980年代に生まれた作家は　経済成長の終わりとともに、私たちは「何を信じて生きるのか」という大切な問いから少し距離を置くようになりました。 情報があふれる今の社会で、みんなが発信者でありながらも、孤独を感じるという現実を見つめています。

集団の中での調和や同じ考えを共有することの価値が薄れていく今、まず「自分を培ってきた環境とは何か」が広く知られていない。

生み出された作品そのものだ。
湿度の重さ、陰翳の深さ、
祈りの静けさ、自然への畏れ。
目には見えなくとも、
胸の奥に息づき、
私たちの心を形作るもの。
こうしたものが、
風土の声となり、

文化と、近代以降の外来思想や社会変革の中で揺れ動く「個」のあり方を【１０８体の作品】展示してます。

《ゼロポイント。》は、108の断片を通して、失われた時代を生きる私たちが、もう一度“自分とは何か”を考えるための装置である。
“無”とは虚無ではなく、意味や感情が再び立ち上がるための余白であり、そこから世界は静かに再生を始める。
僕はその余白の中で、もう一度、世界と向き合いたいと思っている。

【Profile】
Shinichi Wakasa
Born in Hiroshima, Japan, in 1982.
Completed the Doctoral Program (ABD) at Hiroshima City University Graduate School of Arts. Studied traditional Japanese painting techniques at the university, and his graduation work was purchased by the university as the top-ranked piece of his class.
After graduation, he received the Semi Grand Prix at the “Debut” competition organized by the monthly art magazine Bijutsu.
Wakasa creates works inspired by Japanese landscapes and spiritual aesthetics, integrating visual elements characteristic of manga, games, and anime into the traditional framework of Nihonga.

【プロフィール】

　若佐慎一　　
1982年広島生まれ。
広島市立大学大学院博士後期課程 満期退学。
大学で日本の伝統画法を学び、卒業制作を同大学の首席に当たる買い上げとなる。

卒業後、月刊美術主催公募展「デビュー」にて準グランプリ受賞。

日本の風土と宗教観をテーマに、漫画やゲーム、アニメの特徴とされる要素を作品内に取り込み制作する。

Overview
This exhibition, Zero Point., reflects on the connection between Japan’s natural environment and my sense of self.
Through 108 small fragments, Shinichi Wakasa explores a new meaning of the word “Mu” (nothingness), inspired by societal growth, change, and the unsettled feelings in today’s digital world.
This project invites contemplation on the long-held Japanese value of living in harmony with our surroundings. In Japan, the animistic concept of wa—a feeling of unity with mountains, rivers, the seasons, and people—has endured for centuries.
With the end of economic growth, we have distanced ourselves from the fundamental question: “What do we believe in to live by?” Wakasa, born in the 1980s, faces the paradox of a society overflowing with information, where everyone is a broadcaster yet still experiences loneliness.
As the importance of harmony within groups and shared beliefs diminishes, there is little widespread awareness of the environments that shape us.
Humans are products of their environment.
For me (the artist Shinichi Wakasa), Japan’s landscape is the origin of creation—
the weight of humidity, the depth of shadow,
the stillness of prayer, reverence for nature.
Though unseen, these reside deep in our hearts,
shaping the fabric of our spirit.
These elements become the voice of the landscape,
resonating through the work.
Zero Point. is a careful reconsideration of the background of environment and individuality. It addresses Japan’s cultural spirit of harmony and the shifting nature of the individual amid modern foreign ideas and social transformations.
