Ivaylo Gueorgiev

Ivaylo Gueorgiev is a Bulgarian born artist, who started studying art when he was 13 years old. At the age of 20, he moved to San Francisco to continue his art education. Not long after, he moved to New York City and began working in the studios of world-renowned artists such as McDermott & McGough, Jeff Koons, Aaron Young and others. At the same time, Ivaylo was shaping his own vision and constantly creating new work, which landed him numerous exhibitions in New York City and abroad. In 2010 he was awarded a fellowship in painting from the New York Foundation for the Arts and in 2012 he was invited to Arteles, Finland for a month-long artist residency. Ivayloʼs artwork is in the private collection of Adam Clayton (U2), Luca Marenzi, Claude Simmard and others. Currently, Ivaylo lives in western North Carolina, and is pursuing his passion for film photography. — This project was supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cutural Resources.
